Ride rules / Reminders

  • #1 - This ride is to have fun.
  • Is your tank full?!
  • Have you signed in.
  • New to the group, if you want on the list to receive the newsletter, see me!
  • It is not a race. Ride spirited only when safe. See rule #1
  • Remember to drink fluids at the stops even if it isn’t real hot out.
  • If you’re a new rider or haven’t driven for a while, or haven’t rode in a pack, ride in back. Get used to it.
  • On the freeway, ride staggered. See the other rider in their mirror. If cars want to cut through, let them.
  • On the twisties, go single file. Give the rider in front of you room to brake and turn. Don’t tail gate them. If the rider in front of is slow, pick a long, wide, safe stretch to pass. Else wait for the next stop point and beat them out. See rule #1
  • If you are having problems, mechanical or otherwise, give a throat slashing gesture and pull gently over and to a stop. Some one will pull over with you and give assistance or find out what your problem is. If no one else, the tail gunner will stop.
  • Stop and gather points. Wait until the whole pack groups up, then go.
  • Stop and wait points. Wait until the riders behind you arrive, go on, those riders will wait for those behind them, etc, until the tail gunner. This is for confusing intersections on complex routes.
  • Gas stops. Anyone with a small tank? Where. Gas, potty, then talk.
  • Lunch stop. Where. Hour and a half to two hours.
  • Turn signals left on -- beep, hand up, open and closing fist.
  • If you want to leave the group early, let a few folks know so we don’t wonder where you ran off the road.
  • Ride leaders. Sport bikes, cruisers. Tail gunner.
  • First aid kits?
  • EMTs? If any, would you ride toward back to cover the bet?
